Express Life in the World

Step Four

Allowing the Life of Christ to be expressed through you is step four. But you may be wondering how His life is expressed in and through you… we’ve got you covered! This resource page shows you several ways and opportunities to express the Life of Christ in the world – in your home, job, school, community – everywhere you go!

Express Life in Our City

Are you ready to express the life of Christ in our local community, but aren’t sure where to start? As a church body, we support numerous local missions and outreaches. Here are a few that you might want to consider:

  • Bethesda Health Clinic
    www.bethesdaclinic.org
Bethesda volunteers are involved in many different areas throughout the clinic including medical, dental, admissions, Barnabas program, reception, and more. We also have volunteers that assist with sorting donations and customer service at our Hangers of Hope thrift stores. Volunteers at Bethesda not only receive a sense of fulfillment, but also purpose. Sharing a smile, conversation, and the love of Christ is incredibly inspiring to all that enter through our doors. Joining our Volunteer Program means meeting new friends, impacting the local community in a positive way, learning new skills and gaining valuable experience. BVT programs and activities are designed to help residents develop the skills they need to achieve their God-given potential.
  • Hand Up Network
    www.handupnetwork.com
Helps provide the people of Tyler a helping hand up! Programs for victims of abuse, immigration service, emergency response teams, and much more! The Hand Up Network provides a “Hand Up” and avoids the traditional response of a “Hand Out”. We focus our efforts on developing programs to encourage, equip and empower those who want, and are willing, to change their circumstances. These people need a “Hand Up” and an opportunity to overcome a tough season of life. Each person will have a unique journey and we are intentional to build a foundation that helps to establish abilities and good habits that provide for long-term success.
  • Kingdom Life Academy
    www.klatyler.com
The Mission of Kingdom Life Academy is to Educate, Equip, and Empower students through Christ-centered, problem-based, real-world learning experiences so that students will: Humbly influence and serve others through Christ. Acquire valuable life knowledge and skills that enable them to break destructive cycles. Concurrently graduate Kingdom Life Academy and complete one of Tyler Junior College’s certificate programs, a trade apprenticeship, or enter the military.
  • Meals on Wheels
    www.mealsonwheelsetx.com
Since 1973, Meals on Wheels – East Texas has been a ministry serving a daily meal to over 2,500 frail, home-bound senior citizens and disabled persons; covering six counties in East Texas. These meals are prepared fresh at our central kitchen in Tyler, TX. Meals are then delivered by compassionate volunteers to eligible persons who cannot provide meals for themselves. Often this is the only meal a client will have each day.
  • C.A.R.E. Christ- Centered Abortion Recovery & Education
    www.careabortionrecovery.com
CARE’s mission is to Restore lives wounded by abortion and educate the community of its consequences. CARE serves the men and women who suffer from emotional and spiritual problems after choosing to have an abortion. Many of these individuals have lost hope and suffer in silence with shame and guilt from the pain of their abortions. The hopelessness they feel affects their relationships with family and friends. CARE is here to step in and help rebuild that bridge restoring lives, families, and relationships.
